Oriental Magic – A Scarlett And Jo Review

*Both The Dress And Shoes Are Gifted Items

The amazing thing about the summer is that everyone and everything has a real zest for living. People are optimistic about the season and the rest of the year, the weather is amazing and we have unlimited options for bright and fun clothes. I’m loving all the amazing prints and colours available from all the summer collections I have seen this year and of course pastels and aqua tones are very much in at the moment.

Usually I’m not one for surprises but I was pleasantly surprised when Gifi Fields, Founder of Coppernob Fashion and the man behind Scarlett & Jo called me last week. He had been working on a dress that he really thought I would like. Knowing my love of beautiful floral prints and vintage styles he told me about this amazing print from the 1930s that he had featured on a new style of dress that was coming to Evans. Of course I loved the sound of it and wanted to see what he had come up with!

I have to say once again I am in love with a dress from Scarlett & Jo! The shape of this dress alone ticks all of the boxes for me. I love to wear bodycon style dresses and I enjoy my curves and the shape of my silhouette when I do. For many years I was of the impression that as a bigger woman my body was undesirable, unflattering and un-sexy. Literally 2-3 years ago my perceptions changed. I realised I have never had a problem attracting male attention and everything I was thinking was all in my own head! After getting my first Powerfit dress I was reminded a fuller figured shape is a different kind of beautiful and should be celebrated as such. For this reason I love bodycon style dresses and urge more women to head out and get one! Another style of dress I really enjoy wearing is the wrap dress. I find that wrap dresses suit women of every shape, all bust sizes and all heights. They add a smartness to them which makes them wearable all times of the day with just enough sass. This dress combines the 2 styles perfectly and the length is really comfortable.

The fact that the fishtail hem of the dress falls just below the knees means that this is one you can comfortably wear a slip, shorts or shapewear should you want the extra coverage. Often when we girls wear shapewear we are concious of it showing by the hem of a dress and this length allows you to be carefree even on a somewhat breezy day. I’m wearing this one in size 24 and I have shapewear underneath. I should note that when I was taking these pictures it was a little breezy on a typical summer evening. As you can see the structure of the dress is maintained by the weight of the fabric so you can go on as normal without having to adjust your dress constantly. Often with wrap style dresses there can be a slight problem in the bust area. Often for women with larger busts we can run the risk of having our bra slip or even having a breast slightly exposed while the other remains in tact. I find myself often adjusting my wrap dresses because of this or evening having to pin them. Women with a smaller bust often have to worry about the fabric flopping and the neckline of the dress losing it’s structure. I will say with this dress I was really impressed. The underline panel in the wrap detail cuts right across the inside of the dress and as the fabric has quite a lot of stretch it clings to your bra without crushing your breasts into a strange shape. The good news, the flap stays firmly in place!

I really love the 3 quarter lengths sleeves on this one. The fabric is soft and rich so I doubt you would need a jacket or shawl when wearing this one on a warm day. I have to say I love the aqua base colour of the dress. Deep pastel tones like this really sit in nice for the season and this kind of dress would be lovely to take on an exotic holiday somewhere. As much as I love aqua tones sometimes I find they can clash a little with my skin tone. I really like how this colour compliments my complexion and because of this I kept my styling very minimal.

When I first tried this dress at the S&J offices it really gave me a feeling of wanting to dance. I joked about this with Gifi and asked him if he was thinking of ballroom dresses when working on this collection because the Red Lace Fishtail Dress had the same effect on me lol. I decided to pair this with a pair of black heels. I was recently gifted the most gorgeous pair of Michelle shoes from Hotter. I have a thing for t-bar style shoes and these are so comfortable and work with pretty much every dress I have so they were a must!

You know what I always say, wear the clothes you feel amazing in! Every woman deserves the opportunity to feel and look sexy in something she feels comfortable in. I once again have to thank Scarlett & Jo for making this a possibility for me, a woman who once didn’t think that would ever be a possibility.

All Girls Love Roses!

It’s no secret that I love to own clothes that are versatile and can be worn in many different ways. I don’t have the sort of budget or closet space to have items that I limit to specific events or days. And because of this there are some clothing brands who are right up my street, one of them is of course Scarlett & Jo.

I like many women love to feel good and I do my best to look nice and have fun with my style. I have to say when I first stumbled across the brand it was when I was first introduced to plus size fashion blogs. I had seen so many gorgeous women wearing clothes that made them look a million dollars and what’s more, they were my sort of size and shape! Scarlett & Jo was quite honestly the first major label on the high street to get me into a dress since I was a child! I couldn’t resist their miracle dress, latter labelled the Powerfit dress and it was this very dress that got me hooked to the brand!

Fast forward a couple of years and several clothing items later and I was re-introduced to the brand from a whole other perspective. I was contacted by Aiofe, PR assistant to Gifi Fields; founder of Coppernob Fashion and the man behind Scarlett & Jo. Gifi had not only seen my blog posts and review comments on the Evans website, he wanted to meet me. A couple of weeks later I was one of 8 bloggers invited to be involved in the launch of the SS15 collection from the brand! It was during this shoot that I was asked to wear this gorgeous black and red rose fit and flare dress! I really didn’t need any persuasion as I loved this one just by looking at it on the hanger and being that my favourite flowers are red roses it was a must for me!

Admittedly I had only worn some of the more form fitting items available from S&J but I instantly fell in love with this dress. Firstly the fit is perfect for me! The careful engineering of the garment allows the dress to mould and sculpt your bust and behind whilst skimming over your stomach area. Three quarter length sleeves always work for me and the length stops just at my knee, perfect for my 5’5 height. I have to say I tend to gravitate towards deeper shades of red such as burgundy and wine but when I wear my vintage or vintage inspired items I love a bright Scarlett red! The brightness of the red I find makes the dress a really fun piece to wear and one that could be worn on colder seasons. The fabric is soft and thick and makes the fall of the dress have more structure. I haven’t found myself in a Monroe situation on windy days when wearing this one lol.

During the shoot however I was constantly thinking about ways I could style this dress. Scarlett & Jo love to create garments that have a sexy sophistication to them with a romantic flare. That being said inspired a very classy and elegant shoot. On a somewhat warm spring evening recently I was heading to an event by Evans to celebrate the fact that #StyleHasNoSize I thought it would be fitting to wear an item stocked by them. I decided to pair this dress with some black leggings, my black biker jacket, red bow ballerina pumps and a black head scarf.

Since the shoot I have had the great opportunity to get to know the Scarlett & Jo team and some friendships have been formed, especially between myself and Gifi. His passion for the brand and his work as a whole really does come through in the clothes. What’s nice for me as a customer and friend to the brand is being able to see how proactive the they are with the feedback they receive. Gifi and the team really pride themselves on giving their customers great service and value and they are constantly looking at ways to keep on top of their game. I can honestly say I have never been disappointed!

I wear my items from the brand quite a lot and the thing I love about them is how timeless they are. Many things we buy are perfect for a certain trend and then can look somewhat dated after time. The classic designs and prints used by Scarlett & Jo have made their clothes items I have been able to wear on many occasions and quite often. The great news this is all without the colours running or fading after several washes. I must say though even though this dress is no longer on the website there are some gorgeous new lines available in their High Summer collection.

The Lady In Red – A Scarlett & Jo Review

*This Dress Was A Gifted Item

There isn’t a woman alive who doesn’t want to feel glamorous, sexy and elegant. Many women have their idea of how they would like to look and it usually involves wearing a beautiful dress of some kind.

I personally believe that every women should own a LBD and an LRD for those of who aren’t familiar with the acronyms I mean a Little Black Dress and a Little Red Dress. I view these 2 dresses as essential wardrobe items. Most of us have found ourselves or can find ourselves in a situation where a beautiful dress is the required attire for a function. Family events, work functions, nights with friends or more romantic evenings are known to inspire all women to glam up.

As you know I was one of 8 lucky bloggers who participated in the SS15 campaign shoot for Scarlett & Jo. One dress in particular caught everyone’s eye, the gorgeous Lace Maxi Dress. This design was inspired by the lovely Georgina Grogan who was nicknamed ‘The Queen Of Lace’ by Scarlett & Jo’s designer, Gifi Fields. I first tried this dress on when I went into the office for my SS15 shoot fitting. I originally tried this one in black, size 24 and I loved the shape and fall in the skirt.

Gifi has showcased a great deal of enthusiasm about this design as he feels that it’s one of the best in his career thus far. I can see why he would say so because the shape of the dress is one that is adjustable to all body types. The clever engineering involved allows the dress to work with you, highlighting your best assets and beautifully concealing the ones you may not be as happy about. The inner lining of the dress is a silky smooth slip that to my luck is cut in the same shape as a Powerfit dress. The lace overlay is silky soft to the touch and so comfortable to wear. Many lace items I have worn in the past have been a tough and itchy material that may look amazing but isn’t so nice on the skin. I was really impressed with the quality of the lace used. In even better news it’s stretchy and will mould nicely to your bust, stomach and behind in a very comfortable way. The three quarter length sleeves are an amazing length for me, as a woman with large upper arms I should also note that nowhere did this dress pinch me in the arm area. The comfort is incredible and a great choice if you want something glamorous but also easy to wear. Of course the fishtail detail at the hem of the dress gives the overall design that little something extra. I also find that the way the lace drapes, provides a really nice structure to the dress with a secure fall of the skirt. The V shaped neckline allows for a nice amount of cleavage which is tasteful but still modest.

I should note that shapewear and heels will elongate the silhouette of the body and provide a better look overall for this dress and many others in a similar shape.

I spent many years professionally singing soul, jazz and R&B music and I always wanted the opportunity to glam up like the classic singers; Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James and many of the other legends. It has been and still is a dream of mine to walk on stage in the most beautiful gown, microphone in hand and wow the crowd both with my voice and my stage attire. I may end up in a photoshoot of this kind before that happens, either way you guys will all be informed of what happens through my pictures and blog posts.

As we are heavily into award show season I thought about all of the gorgeous red carpet looks I have seen at the moment and it got me to think about how I might style this dress for such an event. Going back to the style of the gorgeous soul singers, I gravitated towards pearls. I decided to wear a pearl necklace, pearl bracelets and studs with diamonte adornments. Black patent heels and a faux fur black coat topped off the look and I was left feeling like a million dollars!

This dress is available in red, blue and black. The red goes on sale tomorrow and is available exclusively online at Evans. Valentines may have just passed but with the spring and summer right around the corner this dress would be great for many of the events in the season. Every woman should have that one dress that makes her look and feel like a queen. I feel so elegant, glamorous and confident in this dress. A timeless design that will turn heads and make you feel amazing, trust me on this one!

Date Night City Lights

People describe themselves in many ways, one of the most common being in reference to their favourite time of the day. I am most definitely a night person. I enjoy the things that the night-time brings. No one is rushing around to get to work, most are relaxed after a busy work day, and the city of London most definitely looks it’s best with the night lights that cover the town. I especially love being by the Thames at night, seeing all the bridges lit up and the lights of the city skyline.

50 % of my wardrobe is filled with clothes to suit the night time atmosphere. I like to hit a club once in a while, go to a nice restaurant or just hang out with friends. I tend to go for clothes that are either loose and comfortable or tight and fierce! A sexy bodycon dress makes a woman look and feel amazing; power, confidence and style all rolled into one. Sometimes I like to find a combination of the two and recently I pieced together an outfit that did just that!

The amazing pleather fronted leggings from Misguided in size 24 are fast becoming one of my favourite pairs! These are high waisted which I think provides better comfort and a nicer look than low waisted leggings. There is a zip detail at the ankle which is a very small detail but adds a little something extra to the look. I paired this with a gorgeous black fit and flare top from Scarlett & Jo, size 24. The fit and flare design is really popular with ladies in both top and dress formats. What’s great about it is the way it hangs against your frame whilst moulding to the bust to provide a very sexy yet subtle look. The sweetheart detail across the top of the bust is a really nice addition combined with stretchy mesh sleeves.

I decided to keep a metallic focus when it came to my accessories. My black diamonte heart pendant chain from Primark was a must along with my love heart charm bracelet. Topped off with a holographic clutch and I was set! Thick black platform heels was my footwear selection. I wanted a look that would make me feel slick, sexy and ready for whatever the night should bring. The height of these shoes is higher than what I would normally wear but they are so comfortable with the feel of a wedge and really easy to walk in. From New Look these are a pair that would easily lend themselves to many different styles.

When I look good and feel comfortable in my clothes my confidence shines through. I know I’m not alone when I say that a lot of women strut down the street imagining themselves on a runway. Some outfits give you that extra spring in your step and make you feel amazing! Often these are the simple looks with a little something extra. This sort of look would work for pretty much anything. You could wear something like this for an afternoon lunch, a hot date or even a poetry reading. Whatever you pick out to wear make sure that if you are planning on having a good time, and that you feel great in what you’re wearing. I find this is the best way to set the day off in a great way!

Remember whatever you wear, feel fabulous in it and wear it with a smile!

The Sensational Scarlett & Jo And The SS15 Shoot

The past few weeks have been a major whirlwind for me, the most exciting thing was of course working with the amazing Scarlett & Jo for their Spring and Summer campaign, and getting to know 7 of my other blogging sisters better.

The cupcake party was a lot of fun and it was nice to discover how the others girls came to start their blogs and what journey’s they have been on in the process. I have said it before and I will say it again, the highlight for me was of course working with Scarlett & Jo. When I first came into the offices and met with Aoife, Louisa and Gifi the incredible journey started for me. Everyone was so welcoming and so lovely and what really struck me and put a smile on my face was of course meeting the amazing designer Gifi. For years I had spent years working as a professional singer and musician and Gifi really reminds me of many of the people I had met during my years on the stage and in theatre. He is such a character; full of life, zeal and creativity. I really gravitate towards fun and creative people and he is exactly that. I was surprised and extremely flattered to learn that he had seen my reviews of the Powerfit dress on the Evans website and then my blog posts about their clothes. It was such a pleasure to speak with him in person and to see how much passion he has for creating amazing clothes for women everywhere. Scarlett & Jo as a brand is very precious to him and he and the team are committed to bringing women beautiful garments which look great on women of all shapes and sizes. The detail and engineering that goes into the clothing is second to none and it shows whenever you wear them. I was just saying to a friend of mine earlier today that nearly 2 years after buying my first dress and wearing it EVERYWHERE it still looks and fits exactly the same as it did the first day I wore it!

Here are my final images from the shoot:

I was so honoured to have been asked to join the girls in the current campaign. So much thought has gone into every single item in the collection and there really is something to suit everyone. I have to say it was so nice to be working with a group of people who all share the same passion about fashion for the plus woman and every picture taken on the day came out so beautiful. Hats off to the incredibly talented Nicky Rockets for all of his work, he was such a pleasure to shoot with. The collection is rolling out onto the Evans website as I write this post with items being added daily. Selected stores which stock the Scarlett & Jo range will also be getting these items so keep your eyes and ears open for updates.

Here are some of my favourite out-take pictures taken on the shoot:

Cupcakes And Dresses, A Plus Blogger Fashion Party!

My journey to confidence has brought with it many changes. I used to live in black and boring clothes, would never wear garish prints or colours and would always play it safe with my fashion choices. For years some of my closest friends had tried their very best to encourage me to wear dresses and skirts. You wouldn’t think I was ever that way if you met me today but it’s true! One brand in particular forced me to change my outlook and be bold and that brand is of course Scarlett & Jo.

I hadn’t worn a dress since I was a child and for years I hadn’t even considered it, but as soon as I saw their panelled dresses hit Evans stores I knew I had to get my hands on one! The dress that has since been named their Powerfit dress is a style that seriously blew my mind. I had seen some bloggers and fashionistas wearing this dress and despite the fact that all of these women came in a different sizes and shapes it suited everyone! My first was the blue dress and I was hooked. I now own 5 colours (Check out how I styled the cream contrast version) and I will most definitely be picking up more when they hit the shops! To see my review of the dress click here.

Check out these gorgeous dresses due to come out in the SS15 Collection!

I later discovered their peplum style dress which I absolutely love and this became my go-to outfit last Valentines day. Check out my previous post and I’m sure the dress will speak for itself!

I was instantly hooked on the Scarlett & Jo brand, I saw them as a brand that brought classic old Hollywood and vintage styles into the modern market and with a fresh and interesting twist. Last week I recieved an email from the brand asking me if I would like to join them for a bloggers cupcake party and photoshoot, you can not believe how excited and honoured I was to be asked! The following day I was on my way to a fitting at their offices, I was both nervous and excited at what was happening. It was all happening so fast that I didn’t really have a lot of time to take it all in. 7 other bloggers had been selected to participate and each of them had had a dress designed specifically with them in mind. As I had joined the group quite late into the process I was expecting to wear one of the new lines that had been designed or a dress that was made with another girl in mind. I had seen the most gorgeous tropical print fabric and I fell in love with it, I was then shocked to find that the design team had been asked to throw something together for me to wear at the shoot. The following day when I arrived at the gorgeous mansion Home House; there was a pair of trousers, a skirt and a powerfit dress all made in my size and in the fabric! As you can imagine I went straight for the dress and it ended up being the first outfit I would take pictures in.

As the day progressed I had seen more beautiful colours, fabrics and garments made than I was expecting. I found myself wanting to buy every single frock lol I guess I just have to wait until the collection comes out to get my hands on them! I will say this though, the amazing details in the cuts and shapes of the dresses will flatter anyone who tries them. You guys will be in for a serious treat!

The highlight of my day was spending so much time with the other blogger babes. Most of the girls I had met at previous functions and events but I hadn’t been awarded the opportunity to really converse in the past. It was great sharing our admiration of the clothing and of the day. These women are not only gorgeous but they all have a deep affection for making plus women look and feel in amazing in whatever they choose to wear! I felt more uplifted and more inspired as the hours passed, and I have to say it was an amazing experience for every possible reason! I am still buzzing from it today and I cannot wait to see what the finished images look like!

Gold Dust – The Perfect Duster Jacket – A Boohoo Review

This year a huge fashion item has been the duster jacket. Tons of brands have had these available in an assortment of colour and print variations, different fabrics and interesting cuts. When it comes to my jackets and coats I like to select items that I can picture wearing with existing items in my wardrobe. A few weeks ago I had a bit of a shopping haul on Boohoo, they had an amazing offer which took 20% off all of the items in the plus range. I had been looking for a duster jacket that would act as a staple and work with many of my favourite items. I like wearing shrugs, boleros and cool jackets as my cover ups and when I saw the Natasha Checked Duster Jacket it had to be mine!

The interesting pattern reminded me of a top that I have from Lane Bryant. As I have been able to work that into several different looks I knew this would be the same. The length of the garment matches loads of my bodycon and t-shirt dresses and the simple black and white colour makes this an adaptable item that works with pretty much anything.

I picked this up in a size 24. I always buy my jackets and coats in a larger size so that they hang nicely with the clothes underneath. The 3 quarter length sleeves are a really nice touch especially if this is worn with a dress or short sleeved top. Short lapels and no pockets make this one a really nice cover up.

I paired this with the Cream Contrast Powerfit dress (size 22) by Scarlett & Jo. Check out my full review of my favourite bodycon dress that I have in 5 colours! All Scarlett & Jo Items can be purchased from Evans. Unfortunately the Powerfit dress isn’t available at the moment but stay tuned as there are some gorgeous new lines from the brand!

When putting this look together I was thinking about the amazing events that are happening this time of year. Christmas dinners, drinks, new years celebrations and I wanted a casual/sexy outfit that had that little something extra and showcased my curves in an understated yet chic way.

I decided to keep this look very simple with my usual makeup of black winged eye liner, mascara, brows and foundation. Accessories I kept to a minimum wearing only a pair of twisted hoop earrings and a black diamonte heart pendant. I finished up the look with some black platform heels and I was set.

Wearing this jacket as part of a monochrome look really works but if you wanted a shock of colour you could pair it with black or white skinny jeans and then a coloured top. I would tend to gravitate towards something blue personally but any would work. Alternately fun statement jewellery or coloured acrylic accessories would look really cool.

This Jacket is still available from Boohoo in sizes 16-24 so if you like it and want to try it out it’s just been reduced in price and is only £25!

Remember whatever you wear, feel fabulous in it and wear it with a smile!

Black Magic And Gold Dust

So, we’re now at that strange time in the year when the days are getting shorter, the sun doesn’t seem to want to make that much of an appearance and we are forced to start covering up again.

I personally prefer summer to autumn and winter and I always will. It’s nice to be able able to wear bright and garish colours, bold prints and show a little skin. Having said all of that my aim this year is to have a little fun with my warmer wardrobe. Cute hats, scarves and funky adornments might be the way for me to go when it comes to adding that extra style and flair to my sense of dress this winter.

I hate to say it but I have now had to start wearing my jackets and jumpers and other winter warmers. I think it’s fair to say that summer is pretty much over and any day of sunshine and heat we get we’ll need to make the most of!

I was going through my clothes when I started to feel that sudden chill in the air and I dug out this gold studded jumper from Primark that I purchased last year. I initially bought this when I was looking to add a little sparkle into my wardrobe. This size 20 jumper is really spacious and is just the right length to cover my behind. The thing I like about items with bold prints or with adornments is the fact that they become the focal point to the outfit. Often they can take away any need to accessorise or they can help you in the selection process. I really enjoy the dusting of gold studs I think it brings an element of fun to an otherwise simple piece.

I like keeping it simple sometimes and I thought it would be cool to pair this jumper with my wet-look leggings from Scarlett & Jo size 24. They are so comfortable and stretchy and they are high waisted which is always a bonus because then you don’t get the dreaded “double belly” that can happen when the waist band rests too low.

This simple outfit is a nice one for this time of year when you may not want a coat or jacket but might feel the need to have that additional coverage for comfort and warmth in this weather. For a evening walk in the park I found this to be a really comfortable wear and it got me thinking that I need to pick up some more jumpers.

I thought that I would pair the outfit with my Joe Browns boots from Fashion World. I wanted shoes with a touch of gold and as these boots have studs that compliment the jumper they were an easy choice.

My signature hoop earrings and my lovely necklace were also a no brainer as I wanted a simple look with no added colours.

What I really like about this look which I never paid attention to until I looked at these pictures is the fact that from the back it looks as though I’m wearing a plain black jumper and simple leggings. When you see the ensemble from the front there’s loads going on with gold sparkles and the wet look shimmer on the front panel of the leggings. I think when it comes to fashion sometimes the element of surprise can be fun when someone is wearing something different to what you expect lol.

Have a look in your closet and see what might work for you during the change in the seasons.

Remember whatever you wear, feel fabulous in it and wear it with a smile!

My Valentines Choice: The Red Lace 2-in-1 Peplum Dress By Scarlett&Jo For Evans

It’s not secret that I love the range of dresses by Scarlett & Jo. The quality and style of their collections always has something to suit everyone. I recently picked up another one of their gorgeous styles in the Evans sale that took place over the Christmas period. This time I opted for the Red Lace 2-in-1 Peplum Dress.

What drew me to this dress in all honesty was seeing so many other bloggers and friends wearing this one. The variety of colour ways available meant that there was something for pretty much any occasion. After seeing so many fantastic images of women in this dress I knew it was one I wanted to try out.

As we know this is the time of the year when all talk goes to romance and passion with Valentines day right around the corner. Fashion mags and high street stores are already talking about lingerie and dress options for us women to select for that perfect evening with our partners and in my case it was this dress that came to mind when I was picking out my own for the public holiday.

True to form, Scarlett&Jo have thought about everything with this one. The design is simple but sweet. The peekaboo lace panel that sits over the cleavage adds an element of sophistication to the design whilst being very sexy and chic.  The peplum top just drapes over the the skirt in a really delicate way. I love the way this feels on. The quality of the fabric is great as it’s a thick stretchy material that moulds generously to the curves, covering up any lumps and bumps that you may not want to showcase and enhancing the best bits.

What I like the most about this dress is that all on it’s own it’s a sexy, elegant, sophisticated dress that makes you feel fantastic and it doesn’t need much in the way of enhancements. I decided to keep the accessories to a minimum when wearing this dress as I don’t want to take away from the sweet and simple style. I paired this one with thick black tights, black shoes and silver accessories.
I look forward to wearing this one out on the town as I know not only will it feel great on but it will look it too!

My Top Looks From 2013

2013 was a really jam packed and eventful year for me! I was thrust into the plus size community and went from being a reader of blogs to starting up this one of my own. One of my new years resolutions for last year was to work on my self confidence and to branch out a lot more with my sense of style and I am so happy to say that I achieved these goals! Now I have a long way to go with where I want to be but I have to say it feels good to be in a place where I can say I have embraced myself.
I started last year with the outlook that I was going to make the most of what I have and do my utmost to step out try some new things with my sense of style. My mission was to take my all black wardrobe and I throw some heavy bursts of colour in there. My choice of style went from vintage pinup to bodycon chic in a matter of weeks!
I scoured internet pages everywhere to see how girls with a similar size and shape were dressing and I soon found some things that I wanted to try out and I have to say I am so proud that I did!
Here are some of my favourite looks from 2013 and why they topped my list!
I fell in love with the Collectif Clothing range this year and I cannot wait to get more items from them! The clothes are fun, sassy and gorgeous and best of all, vintage! I absolutely love vintage fashion and I always have back from watching shows like happy days and movies like grease when I was younger.  I always wanted a dress that twirled so wide it was a show stopper. And anyone who knows me personally will know that i’m more than happy to shake what I have on the dance floor too!
The Dolores Doll, Sindy Doll, Gretal Gingham dresses and Blue Dietrich coat were my favourites! I have to admit I have several pieces from Collectif and I aim to double or even triple that amount in 2014!
Some other items I bought but have yet to review are these lovely beauties:

The Betty Lou skirt
I just love the little bow on this one and I love how it looks on!
Doesn’t Georgina A.K.A Fuller Figure Fuller Bust look amazing in this outfit!?!

After I fell in love with the Dolores Doll Dress I had to pick up these hot Dolores tops!
I’ll be sure to write reviews for these items very soon!
It’s no secret how much I loved the Powerfit dress by Scarlet & Jo exclusively for Evans. This dress had something so cool about it and the fact that it was such a versatile number with so many different colour ways available was reason enough for any woman to get excited! These are my top 3 out of the 5 I bought! Of all the bodycon dresses I picked up this year I loved the Powerfit range the best as they had a sophistication that the others didn’t. I have worn these dresses in many different situations and I feel like a million dollars each and every time!
I loved playing around with different forms of clothing this year and some of the freshest looks for me were these! I bought my first swimdress and cover up from Evans this year but I have yet to try them out in a hot holiday destination, so when I do I’ll let you know how I get on with them!
The bodycon dresses you see below are from Asos. The Geo print and the XOXO dresses were the two styles I selected. I wanted to go daring and try something totally new and I think these dresses seriously tested my usual sense of style!
Overall 2013 was a fun year and I did and saw so much, made some fantastic friends and really pushed my own personal limits with what I previously would have been way to scared to even try on let alone walk down the street in! I look forward to seeing what fun and interesting looks 2014 has to offer and I’ll be sure to keep you guys posted!
Have a fantastic 2014! Let’s make this year ours!!
