Soft, Blue And Velvet
It’s the end of the year and as we are enjoying the remaining days in our Christmas break, making the most of the good food and chill time. At the moment most people are thinking of how they want to bring in the new year. Thoughts of resolutions are taking place, people are wondering who will give them a kiss when the clock strikes twelve… others take the time to think about what they will be wearing and how much alcohol they will or won’t consume lol. Making the most of this season and the weather I will again be either wearing a velvet or a sequin number.
This is the third and final instalment of my velvet series. I started off by writing about another soft velvet wrap dress. I then followed this by discussing a mulled wine dress, perfect for Christmas. I’ve been having fun and recently Navabi sent me this gorgeous wrap dress and I was thrilled! Manon Baptiste are known for luxurious premium fashion for us plus size women and offer a fabulous range of clothing. If you’re looking for something with that extra wow factor they can and will deliver! What I love about this dress besides the gorgeous colour and sumptuous velvet is the design. To me the dress is a cross between an elegant wrap dress and feminine smokers jacket. The lace trim adds a sassy feminine touch perfect for some additional elegance and the v-neck cut is perfect to showcase the decolletage.
The soft velvet is thick and warm and has a nice amount of stretch. This cut would suit women of all shapes and moulds perfectly to the curves. The ties are really long so you can pretty much wear them in whatever way makes you feel comfortable. With 2 invisible loops, one on each side of the waist, this is one that you can feel secure wearing without having to worry about adjusting constantly. I really like that the sleeves are long as you still feel covered even though you may have your legs on show and some cleavage out. This one is definitely true to size. I selected this in a size 24.
When putting this outfit together I was heading out for a Christmas get together with friends. The idea was to be festive and stylish. I pulled on a simple pair of black tights and wore my newest pair of ankle boots from Yours Clothing. To finish things off I dug out my old blue sequin blue beret for added sparkle. I thought my new fluffy clutch from In The Style would be perfect as the black compliments the hem of the dress, my tights and hair colour. The silver chain works perfectly with my hoop earrings and the sparkle in my hat.
Blue is my favourite colour! It is really nice to be able to wear another fab dress in rich royal blue. Who can go wrong in soft, sumptuous velvet?! There isn’t a person alive who doesn’t feel fabulous when they wear this luscious fabric. Who knows I may even wear both sequins and velvet to bring in the new year! Whatever i’ll be wearing it’ll definitely be stylish and fun!
