There isn’t a person alive who doesn’t love a good coat! When the winter months approach and the cold sets in being stylish and dressed for the weather can be a challenge. I love a coat that can reflect my personality. As a lover of trench coats and shinny things I had to have this coat the minute I saw it! You simply cannot go wrong with a faux leather patent trench coat!

I honestly think trench coats look amazing on everyone. They add an element of sass and sophisticated whilst still being chic. You may like a pair of jeans on a cold day, some are more into skirts and dresses, whatever you wear; a coat with a good length can really set off your look. If you have a black coat in the winter it’ll work with anything you wear. If like me you want your winter wardrobe to be in keeping with the season but still fun, this would be amazing for you.

I have a thing for patent items so to have a coat of shinny black goodness is a true reflection of my sexier style. It’s also fun being able to re-wear clothes from previous winters. I decided to do exactly that here with this emerald green velvet dress. I didn’t get enough wear out of it last year so this coat gave me a good excuse to pull it back out. The fact that this coat stops below the knee on my 5’5 frame makes this one work with many of my items regardless of their style.

Double breasted with a comfortable fit. The thick silver buttons and matching cinch belt help taper you in at the waist also. One thing I can say is that I have gotten countless compliments when wearing this. Many people have asked me where it is from and I feel like a million dollars in it. This is my favourite coat this year by far!

What are your favourite winter style items? Is your thing trying to battle the cold like me or does it not really bother you that much? Many people use this time of year as an opportunity to embrace wearing hats and scarves. I think if you have a good pair of boots and a stylish coat you pretty much have the essentials!

This is definitely the perfect length coat, I love how it falls just above your boots and shoes the tinest bit of leg x

I agree with you Mayah. I really love a trench. BUT I’m 5″2 so can never find one that doesn’t drown me. I’ve tried some of the petite sizes but they’re all still too long and makes me look like I’m wearing someone else’s coat!

Ah, what a stunning coat. I have been thinking about trench coats but wondering if I would suit one…reading this and how you think they work on everyone has convinced me to go shopping and try some on!
