It’s All About Love

It’s the first week in December and with that comes talks of family, friends, gatherings and of course love. The UK is always buzzed this time of year but after hearing the news of Prince Harry’s engagement it seems love is something the whole country is thinking of. Mistletoe is hanging everywhere, romantic movies are on show. Parties, dinners and other celebrations are taking place all over the country…. And it’s no surprise that already a date is set for our favourite royal and wedding bells will be ringing in May. I am a huge fan of love in all of it’s forms and I enjoy wearing things to represent that. When I saw this cute off the shoulder sweater from Rose Gal I knew I wanted to try it. This one is available in red, white and grey also.

Sometimes you want a girly look with a twist. I paired this sweater with a pleather skirt from Zizzi that I was sent with some other samples. Deciding to keep everything black I thought i’d throw in a splash of colour in places. Wearing a cute pair of satin trainers in my favourite colour blue, these are from a recent Asos collection. When my clothes are black I like to wear red lipstick with my makeup.

I’m a sucker for all things love related. I enjoy seeing people gather and sharing positive vibes. Being out and about seeing people romantically in love and doing kind things for others makes me smile. The funny thing is that in some cultures my name carries the meaning so maybe there’s something in that lol. At present I pretty much have a non existent romantic life. Not a woman who gets in my feelings about these things, I like to focus my energies on loving myself and those around me. Of course I start with trying to spend time learning and building my faith, eating right, sleeping well, exercising and taking the time to see friends and family. I won’t try to pretend to be perfect though, like everyone else I have my faults…

Things often happen that challenge how we see things. I’ve been doing my best to stay positive but things keep happening to make that difficult. Just a couple of days ago my eldest uncle passed away and this led me to again seeing the importance of family closeness and support for each other. Even sometimes when you mentally prepare for something the reality of it can still knock you for six. Honestly, I don’t know where I would be if I didn’t have people in my life who look out for me and show me that level of love and care. My new mission in life is fast becoming to be a support for others as best I can.

The aim is to encourage people everywhere to be confident, positive, motivating forces in their own lives. In a recent post I published on instagram I wrote “You would be surprised how many people are down, lonely and hurting in some way. The little things you can do for someone can mean more to them than you could possible know! A simple compliment or a smile can be all a person needs so be sure to spread your kindness as much as you can!” I guess you could say I have experience with dealing with negativity and can first hand speak on how you can be a blessing to someone without even really trying.

We should treat people the way we wish to be treated, this is something I truly believe. A simple act of kindness to someone can make the world of difference and is a great way of spreading the love!

Check out my recent review of a vintage swing dress my Rose Gal.
